Hello,

I stored my gear away, and haven't visited it in about 5 months.

It was stored in my bedroom, so no issues with temperature. The equipment I'm wondering about was left in an airtight pelican case.

There is this odd yellowish powder looking stuff on some of the equipment. Just in one area.

There was a much older full face mask that is rubber and metal. There was a silicon mask in the box, that was not closed. There was regulator hoses and what not. A neoprene hood, and the pocket from the BC. The full face mask, hood, and BC vest seem to have the majority of the yellow powder looking stuff.

Washing it removes it with no problem, very quickly.

What is it? Is it mold or something? Reaction of dissimilar materials?
