Before diving ensure that the last couple of feet are wound evenly over the middle of the spool (helps to give you space for the double ender)

Take your time unclipping the double ender from your pocket bungee. Once it's unclipped, place your thumb over the middle of the line and then clip off the double ender.

I also got the model that Scubatoys sells, but got it from an EBay seller for $29.50. Oral, LP hose, and Octo purge inflation, duck bill bottom, 6' tall, overpressure purge valve, etc. Hard to pass up.
