I think the OP was looking for books on diving theory rather than novels.

BTW, Rhone Man repeats his request for a dedicated forum for book and media reviews.

I second Rhone Mans request. I was looking for mainly dive theory, but a few novels never hurt anything.

Submerged, by Daniel Lenihan

Caverns Measureless to Man, Sheck Exley

Diving in to Darkness by Phillip Finch
A true story about the last dive of David Shaw at Bushman's Hole, South Africa. Received the book this morning almost done.
A hard one to put down!
Caverns Measureless to Man, Sheck Exley
The Taming of the Slough, Sheck Exley
Diver Down, Michael Ange
Shadow Divers, Robert Kurson
The Last Dive, Bernie Chowdhury
All great books

Doc Harry snagged the NOAA Diving Manual so I'll add something lighter:

Dennis Graver's 100 Best Scuba Quizzes. A lot of fun, especially when you don't agree with his answers. Rather painless way to learn something... -may not be in print, haven't checked.

Have fun.

Submerged, by Daniel Lenihan

Dido. I love the cave diving close call segment in Mexico with Sheck Exley...Exley's dive light imploded at 290ft causing a tight restriction cave-in of lake pebbles...Spine chills

Also, Fatal Depths - Joe Haberstroh, Andrea Doria accident chronology
