Hello! I am newly certified and just signed up for NAUI Advanced OW and Nitrox training. I am beginning to look for new gear, and am considering the Scubapro MK17 / S600 setup with an OMS BC that I can grow into. My wife and I got basic certification at the same time. I am hoping that she will follow shortly with advanced certification as she becomes more comfortable at depth. Am looking forward to both local diving in NJ as well as diving in the Caribbean.

Welcome to the Scubaboard! You and your wife stay warm, okay? Check out the MK 25 while you're at it.

Thanks! Any advantages to the MK25 over the MK17? I heard that the MK17 is good in cold water (like here in Jersey).

Howdy and welcome to SB!

If you haven't yet, click Forums above and start going thru the list - looking for those of interest to you, especially your local dive club. Always good to try a Search before starting a new thread, tho :search: and be careful about posting Replies without reading the Stickies for each forum. Click the link in my Sig below to PM me if I can help you around here..

Greetings from Asbury Park, NJ. (OK, from LBI anyway but wanted to keep the Bruce theme going a bit!)

What shop in NJ are you doing your training with?

Hopefully we'll get to see you out on a boat next spring. I highly recommend the Gypsy Blood - www.gypsyblooddive.com - boat just moved to Brielle from Barnegat Light.
