Diver found dead after search at Aramoana Beach, Hawke's Bay

A diver has been found dead after a search in Hawke's Bay on Tuesday evening.

Police received a report at 7.35pm after the diver failed to surface at Aramoana Beach, Central Hawke's Bay.

The diver was located in the water at 8.15pm, but could not be revived, a police spokesperson said.

Further details regarding the diver will not be released until all necessary family notifications have taken place.

Yet another one. I really do not understand why New Zealand has so many scuba diving deaths. It has the same population as Sydney but the death rate must be 10 or 20 times ours. The only thing I can put it down to is they are generally hunting for things and get distracted.
