Yes, my concern is that while I may be able to stay afloat at the surface w minimal finning, if I were in rougher seas with 2-3ft swells it would be quite a challenge to maintain a clear breathing position for very long.

I have now switched back to an AL plate to shed 4.5lbs. That means I will have to add weight when using the AL80, but would help somewhat when using the HP100.

I did a test dive using my old rig, steel plate and HP100 tank and definitely could NOT swim it up w/o any air in the bc. Not balanced.

Probably wont be able to make this rig work until I get a drysuit. Since I am headed tech, I probably will be in the market for a drysuit soon anyway.
