now that dive haven is closed i need to find some where within 2 hours of atlanta to dive .....any suggestions?

Pelham, AL, a little more than 2 hours depending on which side of Atlanta your on..

Lake Lanier,we have a dive and dine coming up in a few weeks. Check out the lake lanier looney bird forum for more details.

Clark's Hill Lake (close to Augusta) is a fun dive too. Cool plane wreck, ski boat wreck, and some other fun surprises. The vis wasn't the best when I was last out (about a week and a half ago) but that gives you good reason to not silt things up any worse once you're at depth.

It's pretty shallow too (a lot of stuff under fifty feet) so it's great for a newer diver (like myself). Good navigation practice in a low vis environment.

If you ask around in the deep dixie divers section there's several people on here with a lot more experience then myself who I'm sure would be happy to give you a tour if you want to drop by!

I'm told we've got a great river dive here in Augusta too (the mighty Savannah drift dive) but I have yet to try this year because I've heard the vis is really rough in the river.

I must say, though, that some of the pictures and video I've seen from Jocassee are pretty awesome, I need to try and dive that at some point!
