Wayyyy back in 1977 when I was stationed in Korea, we had a soldier drop his weapon down a bung hole. if you dont know what a bung hole is....it is a well like structure at the high side of a rice padi system. It is constantly filled with waste of every description...and I mean EVERY.

The idea is, the hole is filled with water and the nutrients "escape" and travel down the many rice padi layers.

Well, his company commander made him jump in the hole and retrieve the weapon. By the next morning, his skin was starting to peel off. Not a happy camper. He was choppered out to the hospital in Seoul and we never saw him again.
