Just watched one of the films on Tjack’s list, Hellcats of the Navy with Ronald Reagan and wife Nancy Davis. Decent movie for 1957. TCM gave it three stars.

There wasn’t much scuba diving, but during what little there was, the divers demonstrated pretty decent buoyancy control.

Around the World Under the Sea, with loyd Bridges. A group of scientists travel under water to plant earthquake sensors on the sea floor.
Also starring a young David MacCallum. Jolly good fun.

I am putting the latest updated list together with minor revisions. Any more films I should include?

For the next updated list, you should ad(already mentioned) Pioneer (2013), Krakatoa East of Java (1969), and the new one Black Sea (2014).

Hy Tjack, try Lady in Cement. its really nice.

Here's another one from 1955,
The Phantom from 10,000 leagues.
It's pretty cheesy but has some double hose action and underwater scenes.

Please don't ever use the expression "double hose action" in a post again.

I'm just saying.

:D

A new movie appeared in the last weeks.
Pressure (2015)

Seen it yesterday night. Too many errors. A bad movie, it's a pitty.
This is a type of movie that will be seen mostly by divers. So, what's the idea behind of making a movie with so silly errors ?
Diving at 650 fsw with a recreational dive light ?
Using a gas torch inside the bell to warm it up ?
Radio communications with the surface when the nurse ship was sunken by the side of the bell ?
Free ascent to the surface after being several hours breathing helium rich bottom mix ?
The list is endless.
