It is expensive. 2 Twinsets, stages, regs, 2 drysuits, a big car, fuel, courses, helium, computers, it never stops. But it is nice :D

courseprices:
advanced recreational trimix: 700 dollar
normoxic trimix: 700 dollar
full trimix 900 dollar
All excluding gases.
cavern, intro, full cave 2500 dollar.

To the courses, you also need to add Nitrox, Advanced Nitrox, and Deco Procedures at a minimum. Nitrox is ~$125. AN/DP is normally combo'd at like $1k. Also, to get to 180ft you don't need hypoxic or cave training. So, it's really just:

$1000 for AN/DP
$700 for Normoxic Trimix

$1700, plus gasses, fees, travel, books. However, few instructors will let you go zero-to-hero in terms of AOW straight to Normoxic Trimix, so you have to add in additional dives on top of all of your official training. Also, the equipment is a SEVERELY non-minimal cost....so you shouldn't just ignore it unless you've already got multiple sets of doubles, multiple stages, a few deco bottles, 4+ sets of regs, at least one drysuit (typically two), etc.

In Australia, typically;

Advanced Nitrox $599
Deco procedures $599
Extended Range $899
Trimix $995 + gas $400
Advanced trimix $1195 + gas $400
Advanced Wreck $899

Diving costs are in the order of;
Air $14-$20 twin back gas/dive
Deco tank $15 for Nx
Helium $100/cylinder

For gear, my wife and I have each;
2 back gas reg sets
1 O2 clean reg set
1 Air reg set
1 single bladder wing/harness with associated knives, reels, lights etc

I have
1 - dry suit for winter
1 - 6.5 mm autumn/spring
1 - 5 mm summer/overseas
1 - 3 mm tropical overseas
