Thanks. Native Buhlmann is not that much different than DSAT. I like your idea that different compartments may be utilized in the desat calculation, it may even be correct
The surfacing M-values (Mo) for DSAT and Buhlmann ZH-L16C are very similar. The data for the graph, below, comes from Deco for Divers, Powell, 2014. The slope of the M-value lines (deltaM) may be different for the 2 algorithms and may be responsible for some of the differences observed between them. It has been my observation that some of the differences are depth related, consistent with differences in the slope of the M-value lines. The deltaMs for Buhlmann are available, I have not been able to find them for the proprietary DSAT algorithm.
