I've been wondering how they handle ear clearing with a horse?

We heard about this story exactly 5 mins before going into the chamber to 187 fsw. I asked the exact question and was told they would just have to pressurize it very slowly.

I had these handy dandy Pressure Equilization tubes inserted in my tympanic membrane so that my ears never have to clear, air passes through them naturally, and since I do commercial hard hat diving and my ears stay dry I can bounce dive all day and make it to the bottom as fast as I can fall, also when they had to stop the chamber time and time again so people could clear i didnt feel a thing, just sat back and relaxed. just makes it difficult for scuba ops, i have to wear micky mouse ear cup mask thing to keep them dry..
