Looks to me like those two pictures are of the same critter Leesa.

Thanks Leesa! I didn't know that there were soft coral in Hawaii.
 
hee hee...I might have to take that back. I asked my expert friend and he says it might be some kind of algee....go figure. You hear something differnt from who ever you ask :wink:

We do have a few soft corals, small ones, but not many.
