Don't know if anyone ventured over from the "big island" over there. These were reports from the two primary dive boats here (ScubaLuv and CDS). About 8 of us just sat on the Cantina porch and drank beers... something quite alien to me since I don't drink (usually) during periods I'm diving. Of course a friend was buying!

Don't know what you are complaining about. Visibility in the Casino Point park was 20 ft and they hit 30 ft at Bird Rock on the dive boats today! Of course I stayed dry and had a few beers with dive friends instead.

Hopefully that means that the Cleanup won't be SO bad... Though I froze in the rain last year...

Can it actually get any worse? Anyone up for pool diving?

Heh, that is exactly what I did today. I am finally doing that drysuit class after 30+ dives on the drysuit so we did the pool work today. Felt nice to get back in the water. My last dive was the December Wrinkles dive (!).

There's a huge puddle in my back yard that's beginning to look inviting. :D

I have a very small pond in the backyard with depths up to 2 feet! Anyone is welcome to give it a go. You may actually see some aquatic life... which right now consists of a frog that moved in last week.

I will be doing a pool dive today in my backyard to work on some skills, and also to get a feel for what unlimited vizibility is like. Because I'm going to Kona in 2 weeks and 3 days, and I don't want to go into shock or anything with such incredibly clear water.

Need a dive buddy? :) Anyone in OC have a backyard pool I can dive in? LoL I'm getting the shakes and I'm jonzin'.

Good news (I hope)... the forecast I just heard said it should be nice next weekend for the cleanup. Of course we all know how inaccurate "long-term" forecasts are here in "sunny" southern California... and the island may be washed away by then anyway!

TAKE ME WITH YOU. At this stage a pool dive sounds good.

Kona,..... Kona Hawaii, hmmm..... that could work too. Let me see, hmmmm, if I dyed what little hair I have red, bought a hat, wore my contacts and grew a quick gotee, yeah, I could do it.... Hey Jim, how about you and I meet for a cup of cofee, bring the kona tickets

Get some video footage of him first. You'll have to get the stress factor up to about 1500!
