ID help - Goby or maybe Blennie ??

With nothing but a picture to go on... I've never seen this fellow in my entire life.
But,
were I a bettin' man, I'd bet it's some sort of Pacific version of a Razor Fish (not what's called a Razor Fish in the Pacific, but a Xyrichtys sp. or a Hemipteronatus sp. or a very close cousin).
Did the little rascal dive into the sand after you took the pic?

being as there is only one dorsal fin, that rules out the goby option. I like Rick's idea on the razorfish, and will second it.

You were right - Peacock Razorfish
Yes, the little guy dove into the sand with no trace. I fanned a bit of the sand away thinking he may have only covered himself with a bit of sand like a sole, but nothing there. Quite a survival strategy!
 
Razorfish seems clear, but I would suggest that you include info as to where this was photo'ed and how deep, etc. This can often limit the field.
