I've been thinking of making my own underwater flash - a secondhand TTL flash (or $50 of ebay) + a few bucks of PVC and plexi, and I figure I can make a decent flash.

I'm wanting to link this upto an ikelite housing. I know that ikelite has "special electronics" (their words, not mine) in their housing and a custom cord to connect their housing to the flash. What I was wondering is:

1) How does one go about converting the TTL signal from the "special electroncis" back to conventional TTL?

2)Is their any easy way to bipass the "special electronics" in the housing without killing the housing?

3) What is special about their custom cable?

thanx
