It's really no big deal to use asterisks: *TSA*

Just tried the special google search and it worked great after I couldn't find anything using the regular search function, thanks for posting.

Thr search function on SB is part of vBulletin the software we use.

The problem is much worse with "DAN". Even if you use the asterisks, you get an awful lot of posts about "danger", "dangerous", "dancers", and a few "dangs".

Very hard to locate threads on the Diver's Alert Network.

OK, this is what I got when I did ...

*TSA* in regular search = ScubaBoard - Search Results
*TSA* in advanced search, search titles only = ScubaBoard - Search Results

... does not look like much of a solution does it?

Thanks but have you tried this one:

Google Custom Search

TSA in GOOGLE search = http://www.google.com/custom?hl=en&...s/makecse?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.scubaboard.com

That works! (thanks diversteve)

TSA in GOOGLE search = TSA - Google Search

Your links didn't work for me.
If I use *TSA* in the general :search: box, I get all of the threads that include that term.

Or I can use Advanced Search to check the titles only, or posts with it hightlighted only.

Or that Google method is good too.
As explained, it came with the V-board package. We deal with it. :idk:

What use is the search function of the forum if it can't handle three letter acronyms?

I mean GUE, TDI, DIN, DIR, HOG, BAR, PSI, etc. are all legitimate (parts of) searches.

It helps prevent you from having a bad day on ScubaBoard. Many 3 letter acronyms just drive everyone crazy.

... If you try *TSA* in advanced search, titles only .. not a single instance of "TSA" comes up on the page, a bunch of TSandM's threads do though

It's OK, I'll be using google search now
