This is very interesting information, Mudpuppy, thanks for posting it. I'm not surprised by it, the Vedic histories do mention this kind of timeframe.

I just hope that they pick less destructive methods to research this than dredging...

oh, okay, reading the second link, the area is subject to currents up to 8 knots, rapidly changing currents and really poor viz....
