Hello all,

My new Whites Tech Fusion drysuit just arrived... I ordered it with the Seal Lock Tech system and also ordered the SI TECH dry glove system at the advice of my LDS. However, it is not obvious how to attach the SI TECH dry glove system to the SLT system.

Attached are some images of my configuration. The LDS will be contacting Whites to get some info on how this is actually done but I thought I would ask members of this forum. Are there any instructions out there on how to attach the SI TECH dry glove system to the SLT system? The instructions that is shipped with the SI TECH does not consider an SLT system.

thanks,

JK

Sure looks to me like you have a different system on the suit than the Glove Lock system your LDS sold you, but I could be wrong.

Yes, the system is compatable. I installed them myself. I was sent a link to a video. I think the video was from Dive Right in Scuba that showed how to install them but I cant find it now.

Basically you remove the silicone seal from the suit. When you take out the seal you will also take out the ring with the 4 grooves in it. Then you compress the permanent ring on your drysuit and place it into the hard locking ring for the gloves. There is a little lip on the soft drysuit ring that mates to a lip on the hard glove ring. Then you re-install the silicone seal inside the hard ring and sandwiching the soft permanent ring of the suit in between. When you re-install the silicone seal you do not use the grooved ring it was originally installed with. Instead you use the plain black ring from your QCP set. It is designed to fit perfectly.

That is all there is too it. The hardest part is removing your silicone seals without tearing them. I used the method on the whites fusion website that shows putting a spoon handle in between the seal and ring and prying. This caused a pinch hole in both of my seals and I had to replace them. Dive right in scuba has a video where they show a different technique to remove the seal be peeling back the edge of the permanent ring on the suit.

Found it.

Here is the video I followed. Fastforward to 1:29 for the QCP system.

00wabbit, nailed how to do it. I saw that video but didn't watch the whole thing...so of course missed the actual instructions.

What is the point of the Glove Lock system since your hand still has to pass thru the narrow section of the permanent wrist ring? It lengthens the cuff length, which I shortened on my suit, and has a larger ring to get in the way of everything. Personally I feel the Quick Glove system is superior since it takes up less room. I went with the oval ring system to create even more room for my can light head. Just something to think about before you use them.
