As if you need proof that the human race is doomed
because of stupidity, here are some actual label instructions on consumer goods.

On a Myer hairdryer:
Do not use while sleeping
(darn, and that's the only time I have to work on my hair).

On a bag of Chips:
You could be a winner! No purchase necessary. Details inside.
(the shoplifter special?)

On a bar of Palmolive soap:
Directions: Use like regular soap.
(and that would be how???....)

On some frozen dinners:
Serving suggestion: Defrost.
(but, it's "just" a suggestion).

On Nanna's Tiramisu dessert (printed on bottom):
Do not turn upside down.
(well...duh, a bit late, huh)!

on Marks & Spencer Bread Pudding:
Product will be hot after heating.
(...and you thought????...)

On packaging for a K-Mart iron:
Do not iron clothes on body.
(but wouldn't this save me more time?)

On Boot's Children Cough Medicine:
Do not drive a car or operate machinery after taking this medication.
(We could do a lot to reduce the rate of construction accidents if we could just get those 5-year-olds with head-colds off those forklifts.)

On Nytol Sleep Aid:
Warning: May cause drowsiness.
(and...I'm taking this because???....)

On most brands of Christmas lights:
For indoor or outdoor use only.
(as opposed to...what?)

On a Japanese food processor:
Not to be used for the other use.
(now, somebody out there, help me on this. I'm a bit curious.)

On Nobby's peanuts:
Warning: contains nuts.
(talk about a news flash!)

On an American Airlines packet of nuts:
Instructions: Open packet, eat nuts.
(Step 3: maybe, uh...fly Delta?)

On a child's superman costume:
Wearing of this garment does not enable you to fly.
(I don't blame the company. I blame the parents for this one)

On a Swedish chainsaw:
Do not attempt to stop chain with your hands or genitals.
(...was there a lot of this happening somewhere?)

1....Well, You I'm betting you have never been to KY where if you can walk...you can operate....no minimum age for an operator.

2....No Internal use is approved, this keeps those moreons that have every part of their body pierced from thinking about the wonders of a new meaning for implants.

3....Not for processing the Japanese...they're pretty small you know

4....Again with the KY thing....you have no idea how smart those people really are.

The sad thing is they are all probably there because some moron did it then sued (or his relatives) sued the company....

Some people really are that stupid - like the woman that put her poodle in the microwave to dry it.....

Jonathan

You can't be serious....I'm not going to believe that....how F@#%ING stupid was she?

so the story goes it was in the dark days when they were still called "microwave ovens". Well before she baught one she used to put her pooch in the oven after washing it to dry it and make it go all fluffy....

That's just disturbing information...

I remember a few years back my parent's bought some of those drops your give cats to stop fleas - the same warning was on the packet.!!

I also once remember seeing a label on a swimming costume which said 'Dry Clean Only'

From http://urbanlegends.about.com/library/legends/bl-poodle.htm

"The Poodle in the Microwave" (a.k.a. "The Microwaved Pet") enjoyed its first wave of popularity in the mid-1970s. In part, it's a cautionary tale reflecting societal ambivalence toward technological change (a recurrent theme in contemporary folklore). Greater convenience entails greater risks, such stories seem to say. Yet "The Poodle in the Microwave" also hearkens back to warnings at least as old as the 1940s about the danger of dogs and cats perishing after crawling unnoticed into old-fashioned gas ovens. While one can always quibble over the "function" or deeper meanings of urban legends, it's safe to say that they almost always serve as a barometer of our everyday fears.

On, I think it's Golden Wonder, crisps the Cheese and Onion flavour says "Not suitable for vegetarians" and on the Smokey Bacon flavour it says "Suitable for vegetarians". Makes you wonder exavtly what they put in them?
