I've heard that the currents can get pretty bad there, but is that a normal occurrence at all non-slack times or is it just a once-and-a-while thing.

I've only got about 30 dives under my belt.

Only been there once, and there was a lot of surge which I assume happens all the time unless it’s slack tide. We were getting bounced around quite a bit but I wouldn’t consider it a tough dive. Definitely not deep.

I went with CAD last year and the plan was to find a place to hunker down on the rocks at 20-25 feet and see what showed up. We had a few visitors, both harbor and gray seals.

I've done night dives there but I always try to dive slack tide wherever I dive so I never ran into any surge. I don't see anything "advanced" about that site.

no. fairly easy dive.
