Is there a standard for hatchway door opening?

Does anyone know if there is a standard for US Navy ships for bulkhead door openings? I'm wondering if there is a standard for which side of the bulkhead a door is on. For example, are the doors always on the bow side of a bulkhead that runs port/starboard and would open towards the bow? Also, for hatchways that are on the deck, would the hatch open towards the bow or stern? Maybe there isn't a standard, but figured I'd ask.
