Dude: thanks a bunch, it arrived today. Seeing yours made me realize how beat up mine was - I think I got it in the late '80s. If you're in NorCal I hope you'll let me buy you a drink. Thx again Nigel

If I ever get to America might just take you up on that offer. Cheers.

Best thread!

Btw, My Jotron cap split as well! Anyone else up for a coin toss?

It looks like the new AQ4 Mk2 cap might be the same as yours. Seeing as you're in Norway, have you tried Jotron HQ?

PS having just tested an AQ4 vs a Tektite200 and Tektite 200 LED, I wouldn't recommend the old Xenon tube technology devices for 'mission critical' applications where flashing beyond 24 hours could matter. The stamina of the LED is much better - now at 54 hours the Tektite is still going strong. I expect it will still be respectable tomorrow at 72 hours. Update will follow.

...I' d go for the Tektite LED or AQ4 Mk 2.

The Pathfinder is Xenon, right? And looks like only 20 hours burntime.

Based on my little experiment, I'd get the TekTite LED (or even the AQ4 Mk2....)
