...do any of you ever read the some of the posts in the main forums and think..."oh please God, Do NOT let them show up on my boat.."
There are some posts that I just shake my head at....
Mike...sends shivers up me timbers.....

I read them simply as a look into the mind of today's diver....it sometimes is a dark and scary place.....Have you gotten a Pan Am or U-576 charter request yet?

Not yet...but the new scariest request was could they bring their scooters because they could double bottom time due to less exertion. I just asked: "Who wrote the algorithim that supports that dive plan?"

that probably was due to gas requirements, not deco obligation.

My favorite recent one was the call I got from a techy diver that was insistant that his group was going to have a four hour run time on some of my deepr sites. After explaining to him why his dive plan was a bad idea for the wreck sites he was interested in he got very offended. I was just telling the truth and offered reasonable options, but we ended the conversation with the fact that he was going to find a real dive boat Captain to come to Hatteras and take him there. I wished him good luck in his quest.

I believe Tortuga James about the scooter guy. I have heard very similar statements before even from those who should know better. Many of the overburdened tech guys can't do a dive without the scooters as they have so much crap hanging off them they can't even swim. If the scoot quits, they are done and I have to go hunt them down in the current.
