Or the last day of a three day weekend. Moreover, getting on the backstretch (between the Mainland and Key Largo) after lunch on Friday is a great way to waste an afternoon. Really late, really early or hit Card Sound Road.

Best bet is to take an extra day at the tail end of the three day weekend and then drive out a day after everyone else! Even better, take Card Sound Rd out on that extra day and it should be smooth sailing.
