Hello Divers,

We (husband & wife) will be on the big Island in June and are planning a minimum of 10 days of diving.

Anybody have any suggestions of low cost dive boats and bed & breakfast locations?

It does help with discussions if you complete your Profile. And it's even more fun when you load an Avatar (personal pic for each post) and a Profile pic. See UserCP above to access these if you'd like to...?

If you haven't yet, click Forums above and start going thru the list - looking for those of interest to you, especially your local dive club. Always good to try a Search before starting a new thread, tho :search: - click here for Search help, and be careful about posting Threads & Replies before reading the Sticky threads at the tops of most forums. PM me if I can help you around here..

The 2 Dive operators I'd recommend are Bottom Time Hawaii, Found them very attentive. Great personal service and a good experience. And Big Island Divers. Both are great dive shops. Personally had some poor experiences with Jack's.

Big Isle Divers is a great shop with great service. The do the Blackwater dive as well as the manta dive that everyone does....I seem to be selling the blackwater alot today. Also for a small personell op, try Scuba Shack Too. I also hear very good things about Steve and HonuKona? I think thats his op. Im sure he will correct me if Im wrong. Not many negitave comments for any of the shops come through here.
For B&Bs or whatever try the local vacation rentals ads in the paper or craigslist.
Enjoy your visit and welcome to the board!
Aloha

I second Big Island DIvers ... THEY even will put up your equipment and wash it for you if you are doing multiple days of diving. ALSO the blackwater dive is something that you should NOT miss... it was one of the best dives of all time... The Manta Dive is a zoo, with so many divers, and lights, and the like, but still is a good experience... BUT it is not "REALLY" a dive ... I mean sit on the bottom for 45 minutes hugging a rock, is not my idea of an actual dive, but it IS a great chance to take some awesome pics of Mantas.

You will love the diving.

Steve is Wanna dive, my bad. Sorry Steve. I will have to meet you my next trip to the BI.
