Working together to promote training and safety.
12th June 2012
Analox Sensor Technology is working alongside the Association of Scuba Service Engineers and Technicians (ASSET) to promote better training for technicians and increased awareness of the value of analysing diving gas.
Analox and ASSET both have a similar approach to the promotion of safety in scuba diving. The two organisations have agreed to work together on a number of objectives:
ASSET is the world leading association in technician training and standards for the diving industry. Its training arm STATS 2000 runs regular dive industry technician courses. Attendees of the courses will use a number of Analoxs products, whilst other products feature in the Dive Industry Technicians Handbook which accompanies the course.
Simon Lunt, Sales Manager for Analox Sensor Technology, said: ASSET is respected in sport diving throughout the world, and its training in the maintenance of diving equipment is highly valued. We are both committed to promoting the highest standards of safety for scuba divers. We are now working together to ensure that the risks of contamination of diving gas are understood and that technicians are fully aware of the options available for gas analysis.
Stewart Meinert, Technical Coordinator for ASSET, commented: Scuba technicians need to be trained to the highest level, and it is vital that they are fully aware of the risks from contaminants such as carbon monoxide in diving gas. In our courses, we teach the importance of gas analysis, and we recognise that Analoxs products have been designed to provide the required monitoring.

Analox and ASSET both have a similar approach to the promotion of safety in scuba diving. The two organisations have agreed to work together on a number of objectives:
- Raising awareness of the dangers of carbon monoxide (CO) contamination of diving gas in all those involved in compressor operation and maintenance;
- Promoting the benefits of continuous on line monitoring for the presence of CO in breathing air compressor lines;
- Promoting better training for anyone who operates compressor systems; and
- Raising awareness of Analoxs range of gas analysis products designed specifically for the scuba diving industry.
