Trying to decide what to do in next 1/2 hour.
How is the temperature and visibility. Thanks

Viz should be decent. As far a temperature. It could give the word "shrikage" a whole new meaning.

Lower than 50 degrees?

Thursday 1/15/09, it was 51 at the cemetery. Viz was about 10'. I'm sure better viz at the wall below 80. Temp should be the same below thermocline.

Not sure about temp or viz, put I heard something to the effect that DNR had the Diver's Ramp closed, something about stocking fish. Anyone planning on using the ramp (before spring) may wish to check with DNR or the folks at Devil's Fork State Park.

I'll be there in mid-May!

Once the lake turns, you don't get the clear water below 80-90 ft. The deep won't clear up again until the weather warms up.

It's the natural cycle of the lake. As the surface temp drops, it cools the upper layer of water which becomes more dense and sinks. In the winter months there is no thermocline and it's just cold and murky top to bottom. Once the temps start rising and the thermocline forms, you will get the cold clear water on the bottom again.
