There are no more shops immediately around the lake. You will be forced to either Reno or Carson City.

If you're on the north shore or west shore, your fastest bet is to go to Reno. Reno is about an hour and a quarter from Emerald Bay (driving through Truckee), and 55 minutes from Hurricane Bay (near Sunnyside).

If you are on the south shore, Strictly Scuba in Carson City is the fastest option. Be aware this involves driving over Spooner Summit, a quick elevation gain of about 1000'.

On the east shore (Sand Harbor) time-wise, it's a wash between Reno and Carson City; however, the drive to Reno transits Mt. Rose Summit (8900'), a 2500' elevation gain.

In Reno, there are two shops I'd recommend: Adventure Scuba, or, Sierra Diving Center.

Enjoy the lake! Right now the surface temps are finally picking up, about 60 degrees on the west shore and 63 degrees on the east shore. The thermocline is at 55' and is about 52 degrees below.

All the best, James
