The CX@ is more powerful. This is a good backup light, a light to have for safety reasons, or one you can attach to a helmet or mask strap.

I prefer the twist on backup lights. The CX2 has the button but like you said, I wouldn't be using this has a primary.

Same here. I was looking at the CX2 light some time ago, but I didn't like the backup feature.
