My favorite kind of lionfish. Left at least a dozen on the bottom just like them.

SWEET! Bravo!!!

I met Reef Haven on the dive; he's using a very innovative homemade spear to kill those things. Obviously, it works well. Another diver on the boat speared at least three lionfish using a 'lionfish tamer'. Those things are starting to proliferate: I see them on almost every dive on Jupiter/Juno Beach reefs.

Nice shooting!!!

I was up in Jupiter on Sunday with Chugs and he got at least 6 with the lionfish tamer.

It was a fun day with JDC.
The DM in the water was great!
I did zap about 6 of the LION FISH beasties as Soamelt said, and I am sad to report that I missed one and had one other just "flash" on me and disappear.
I am learning that you need to approach very slowly, and the stupid things will pose for pictures and/or let you blast them.
I finally met Reef Haven and Sportxlh so that was a good thing.
I do not get up to Jupiter more than one or two times a year.
We saw a bunch of Caribbean Reef sharks, a giant Jewfish, a good sized Nurse shark, a humongous Southern sting ray, and a crap ton of Green Morays. The reef fish were in abundance also.
It was a great dive with the great company of great divers.
JDC runs a great operation.

Chug
Lion Fish count at 10 so far.

Edit of my original post

chugwhump: I got the video of you killing the lionfish. Below are two photos of the skewered fish. I left your e-mail address (in my dive log) at work so will send the photos and video to you tomorrow.
