The worst hazard I’ve encountered - Travis is too easy to get to -
which leads to diving every weekend,
which leads to neglecting the duties back home,
which leads to upset wife,
which leads to expenditures on flowers/jewelry/dinner,
which cuts into my dive gear budget.

Snakes can be an issue on some lakes ( or swamp areas ) but usually small ones as the large one try to swim off . They are drawn to the fish which are drawn to the sediments you disturb around you . I've had one take my fin off and seconds later pop up with a catfish in his mouth . Trot line hooks are and can be nasty . JUST PAY ATTENTION AND DON'T PANIC ! CARRY A GOOD KNIFE AND A POSITIVE ADDITUDE ! YOU WILL ENJOY !!!

Diver-bombing. Overweighted students + dense instructor with inability to understand that the bubbles coming from the platform below indicates another class on the platform = tanks banging into heads. Sometimes happens off-platform as well...

Aren't you supposed to look down so that you don't end up landing on someone?

I doubt very seriously a new diver is focused on looking down on their first few descents, if a student lands on me I just move, its not that hard, its not like they dive bomb you on purpose.

Most of the time I hear them coming anyway and get out of the way
