personally i think 100 dives to qualify to take the ie is an appallinly low number - and unfortunately its all too easy to come accross these zero to hero's working in the dive industry in Asia. I am sure that some are "good" but most seem to have little or no real world diving skills.

BTW, leading people round the same half dozen dive sites for 50 dives during the internship isn't learning how to cope properly underwater
 
In total agreement re: these zero to hero courses but then how often has one met a person who is "just a natural born diver"?. Many times we have met Open Water/Advanced divers with relatively less amount of logged dives versus a higher certified diver with more logged dives and have proven to be by far better divers.

Some people just take to it and some take a lot longer.
