You should be happy to know that the hardest part your trip will be deciding who to dive with! I posted a similar thread a few months ago and received the same diverse response.

I was in Key Largo last week with my family and would high recommend Dive In. (http://www.diveinflkeys.com/) They run a 6-pack which we were looking for.

We only planned a single dive with them but had such a great time, we chartered a second day later in the week. You may want to consider an U/W guide to show you around. Both the operator and the guide gave us the attention and service we were hoping to find that made the trip our best vacation ever.

Good luck and have a great time.

We just got back from Florida this weekend, did a 6 dive - 2 day stay with Kelly's on the Bay and they did a great job. The staff at the hotel and the boat crew (divemaster and captain) are professional and helpful.

The boats were not very crowded the first 4 dives and even on the final two with over 20 people on the boat (about half diving) it did not seem very crowded and we were in the water quickly.

The rooms are not the greatest, we opted to go with the larger queen which set us back $80, but we are there to dive not spend time in the room. Pool is nice (there weren't a million kids splashing around) and of course Hobo's next door has some of the greatest food in the key's.

We did a sunset snorkle from the Holiday Inn dock and the pool/grounds at the holiday inn were a madhouse!

Needed to rent some gear which was in good shape and we were able to stow the rest of our gear in the locker close to the boat. I think you will enjoy your stay at Kelly's

I'll second Kelly's professional service and great attitude. My cousin came down from Baltimore to dive two weeks ago and we used them for a few dives. Nice boats, crew, and very well organized :thumb:

Alan,
Glad to hear it went very well. Unless the seas are rough, I never go on the cattle boats. Dive In gets $50 for a 2-tank trip on a six pack boat. Other (cattle) boats are getting $65. It's simply an unjustified $15 extra in my book.

We usually stay at Ocean Pointe Suites. Hotel priced but they give you so much more. "http://www.oceanpointesuites.com"

We also dive with ScubaDo "http://www.scuba-do.com"

Tony and Lori are great I usually take my daughter along. tell them Jose and Miriela sent you!

We enjoy the keys, many sites to visit and for your daughter it would be the perfect experience as most of the reef dives are relatively shallow and they allow for good bottom time.

Enjoy our keys

Back to DiveIn -

Not only is their price $50, I had chartered the entire boat for my family of 4. I had expected to pay the full $300 for the six seats but they only charged me $200!

That little bonus paid off for everyone as we decided to leave a larger tip and convinced us to book a second (unplanned) dive trip later in the week.

We only paid $50 for a two tank trip with Kelly's. Also, Dive-In sent over divers to go with the Kelly's group.

Great op. One of the oldest and established ops in Key Largo. Very nice hotel packages with the Bayside Resort.

The key here is a 6-pack. They only take out 6 divers.....no cattleboats!

My family has used them since the early 80's and the excellent service has been 100% consistent through and through.

We just got back from Kelly's. Great service - as usual (I imagine all of the place around the keys are at least "good" - can't afford to be bad with all the competition).
$50 for a 2-tank trip. Darren, Steve, Capt. Jeorge - all make the trip a lot of fun with the humor, etc.
I wouldn't recommend anyone else!

just got back...from fl
WE used key west diving socitey and the sea breeze.
both had good crews, we preferred the sea breeze because they had a nicer boat but they also carried snokelers..

In key Largo
We used Amoray Dive Resort... we stayed on the property and they have 2 dive boats on site... These folk were Fantastic !!

Warning !!
Steer clear of Admiral Dive Center in key largo...
Bill is a dive 'broker' .. they have no boat !!
We had reservations to go lobstering (made 3 mo. in advance)
and he was trying to book a boat for us the morning of our dives!!! WE did not get to lobster because of him..
We flew from california only to be disapointed by him !!

Vacation save due to Amoray Dive !!!
