Monday.

We did our orientation dive at Vihamana, (north Male’); as this dive site is an easy start to check proper weighting and equipment. As usual the current was very small. It was a good start as we saw many interesting marine diversity which included: white tip reef sharks, big groups of bat fish (they are the owners of this reef, as you can meet them anytime of the day.) After our first dive we moved further northeast Male’ atoll to do our second dive at Paradise out (MANTA POINT), because of the current we started our dive just next to the cleaning station to make sure that we didn’t miss it. After 40 minutes another 4 of them came to the cleaning station and stayed there until end of the dive. Other than mantas we saw napoleon wrasse, white tip reef sharks and also turtles. Once we were back from the dive, we traveled towards south Male’ atoll where we did our third dive at Embudhoo express as our first channel dive this week. Incoming Current was in favor with us. We jumped in at outer reef and drifted with the current. From the beginning to the end it was a very nice dive. There were many white tip reef sharks, grey reef sharks big napoleon and many pelagic fishes in outer part of the channel. When we drifted in the channel the fish life changed to more reef fishes. Included oriental sweet lip, big groupers, lobsters and turtles. After the dive we moved to near Guraidhoo for the night. Our first night dive was at Dhahburi giri, which was a nice and easy dive without any current. The reef was full of macro life and resting fishes. To mention, we spotted Maldivian sponge snail, scorpion fish, different types of sea slugs and shrimps, stone fish, octopus and few free swimming moray eels. Lovely first day was over with a tasty set menu dinner with calm seas of south Male atoll.
