Hi, I am trying to change out the LP hose connecting the fusion 52x second stage and cannot figure out for the life of me how to get the VAD/Twin Power cover off that prevents you from getting to the end of the hose. I took the small screw out but I think there has to be something else holding in on because it isn't budging. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

aaaand never mind. I figured it out. PITA to change a hose out on these. Figures as soon as I post I figure it out.

Figured it out yet?

I am keen to change mine to a longer miflex for hogarthian setup. I know the hoses can be changed, as Mares offers an alternative in the instruction manual.

sure - so there is a tiny hex screw on the VAD cover/knob. Take that out. Then, though it doesnt seem like it will, just unscrew the cover (this is what got me). From there you should be able access the hose/regulator connection and take apart with a spanner or wrench.
Just a heads up - I changed mine out from the stock milflex to a long rubber hose - the rubber hose didnt fit in the VAD cover - i had to bore the cover out a little to get the assembly back together. If you stay milflex you should be fine though.

And then, how did you remove from the hose the large plastic piece attached / screwed to the second stage (the piece screwed to the second stage and held in place with the hex screw)? Thanks

I had to 'expand' the large plastic piece to get it off. Its not very user friendly with the larger diameter of rubber hoses. It takes quite a bit of effort and patience to remove it and put it on a new hose.
