I have heard stories about that happening on their BC's with integrated weight pouches. I was going to see if there was a way to rig it up to where they would still be releasable if necessary, but there'd be no chance of it just falling out as mentioned above. I've done some tinkering with my own tactical gear for work/shooting competitions and could probably find a way to do so.Not that I want to have to modify anything before I can even use it with relative assurance of safety, but I also like the releasable weight pouch idea better than a standard belt. They are uncomfortable to me, plus it seems like no matter how tight I cinch them down they never want to stay in place (drives me nuts). Having the weight on my waist/hips doesn't bother me because I'm an LEO and my gun belt weighs about 15-18 pounds so I'm used to it, but I also don't wear a BC when I'm on patrol. :)Any other integrated models that don't have this issue? I'd like to stay at $450 or lower (want quality, but I am a public servant... I don't make a lot of money lol) and the less I have to spend while finding something I like, the better...

have stolen that ;-))

Here is a link to a Dive Rite system for $299. If you want to build a system with a Hollis wing start here. So at $619 it is not all that cheap. DSS will sell you a complete system for $460.

I have that system http://eshop.daretodive.eu/produkt/weighting-system-for-backplate--/ which is equal to Halcyon , Agir ,..... but not screwed on backplate but on clasic belt , because I need weight lower on butts ;-). Inside of pockets are welcro straps that smaller weight would not roll inside of pocket .

Here also, there are no edges which could be stuck and accidentally dropped the weights.

Bump for input from any Mares Journey Elite owners. Integrated weight concern aside, I'm considering this or a new BP/W package. It seems like a decent back inflate. I live in South Florida and only dive occasionally and in warm water. I don't see myself growing into more technical diving so I think the BP/W might be overkill. I do travel but only take my regulator with me.

Divers Direct has the Mares Journey Elite for 279. I could go to Dive Gear Express in Pompano Beach for a BP/W setup but that looks to be about 500. I'm not sure if the premium is worth it given my dive profile.
