Dear Friends,

I just completed my OW in July. Did all my dives with a Cress-Sub Horizon Mask. It fits great, no leakage, good field of vision!

My problem is this, I don't like a mask that has 2 front lenses (although the Horizon is not bad at all!) and would prefer a mask that has a single front lens. I'm considering an Ocean Master View 3 Mask because I have a wide face. (no mustache)

I think I can be happy with the Horizon as a primary mask, but wouldn't mind finding something interesting to try. After all, why do we go diving in the 1st place.....to SEE right? I'm just in search of the perfect mask for me!

Does anyone really love their mask?

I have an Oceanic Mini-shadow...it has a single lens, is low volume and easy to clear, and is frameless so it is easy to pack.

No complaints yet...

I dive with a Mares Opera

and swear by it, but masks are such a personal Thing !!
My wife swears by her Tusa.

The best thing you can do is go diving with as many as you can. Any dive shop worth its salt will let you take their mask range for a test dive at least in the pool and see what is most comfortable for you.

I have never seen two people agree on a mask as every face is different and so is every mask

Cheers

I also have a wide face and searched high and low (and dropped a fair amount of cash!) for a mask that fit me well. I finally came across a used Apollo frameless bio-mask someone was dumping off - perfection! Here is a leisure pro link for it. Who knows if it will work for you but I've bought an extra just in case, it's my most comfortable piece of equipment.

good luck, Joe

Do check out Scubapro's Microframe. Great reviews from my dive buddies. Comfortable skirting, low-volume and good overall fit.

cheers!

Mares Opera which is what I use is a dual lens mask. I dont think they make a single. If I could wear a single lens mask (cant get prescription) I would purchase the frameless mask made by Oceanic which is the Shadow or Ice.

The 2 lens opera was too small for my face.
The single lens Mares Lirica is perfect for me , it's a perfect fit, it clears very easy, and my dive optics fit in the lower/ wider part of the lens, where they are out of my feild of view unless I need them (just for reading guages)

available in colors or tech black for those that want to look cool! (looking cool cost a little more)
