I was diving in Orange Beach, AL and saw this little guy. I'm lousy at identifying critters so I need some help.

It's a remora.
 
Hmmmm....I thought it was big for a remora.
 
Sharksucker Echeneis naucrates get to about 18".
How big do you think it was? It's clearly a lot shorter than the diver seen in the distance.
