Hey all,

I do a lot of ocean kayaking and the there are many great dive-sights that straddle good kayak areas out here. Has anyone ever rigged up a way to haul their equipment and a couple tanks when ocean kayaking? Only thing I can think of is to tow a little inflatable behind me. Suggestions?

the only thing I have to say in make sure it is secure. then inflate the BC so that if it does come out it wont sink to the bottom weights, tank, lights, and all. I used tie downs not buggies and I still lost it all.

Last week when I went I used an Ocean Kayak. I set up the bp/w on the tank and placed it behind the seat. I then placed the second tank in and gear in the forward compartment. Seemed to work ok...Then again, it was my first time on a kayak!

I'm thinking of fabricating an outrigger out of sealed (buoyant) PVC pipe and then using cordura webbing to create a lash-down / cargo-net area between the struts of the outrigger. I expect it will create a hell of a mess for weather-cocking, but seems that its the only-way to accomodate these large/heavy loads.
