Hi. Bought this from a store at $12 :

80 lbs crossbow pistol.png

And turned to this :

With a made latex band, a piece of stainless rod, brass shafts, stainless 'broad heads', all its screws replaced with stainless, 2m of window blind cord.

That was fun.

Interesting! Some questions: how much would you estimate it cost? About how long and heavy is the whole speargun, and will you make some kind of holster or holder for it while not in use on a dive? Is it negative or neutrally buoyant? What kind of fish do you plan to take with it? I have only hunted lionfish with pole so far, but hope to do more lionfish hunting. Need different spear tips for that purpose. It does look fun.

Hi.
It is less than 2 pounds, ABS plastic.
The pistol crossbow was $12 at 'RuralKing';
the winged stainless spearpoint is about $2,
the 5mm x 30cm brass shaft about $1,
the latex tubing about $0.50,
replaced screws with stainless about $1,
stainless 3.5mm rod for cocking $0.20,
2m string $0, into drilled hole at rear of shaft.
2 oval lead fishing line weights inserted in the band $0.20.
Did some threading at the cocking rod and shaft. No holster nor intentions for such. The full length from tip to cocking lever ball is 57cm, could be shrunk to 50cm with shorter shafts. Fired on air reached about 10m; has not been wet yet. Someday will report 'performance'

Great looking antique spear gun held by an antique spear fisherman...

I cant tell ?? but does it have the traditional SEA "thumb trigger ?"
Is the arrow (shaft) just a rod or a modified item from something else ?

Thanks for sharing - most interesting

Hi. Bought this from a store at $12 ....

You did a great job !! Tie a knot on each side of the rubber so the wishbone doesn't slip out underwater. Incredible value at $12+
