DA Aquamaster:
The Mk 16 is very similar to the Mk 17 overall layout and design. The Mk 17 uses a different seat and alignment system and supplies the air to the balance chamber through a passage on the other side of the chamber rather than through the passage for the pin.

The Mk 16 does not have the sealed amient chamber but is none the less very reliable in cold water - much more so than the Mk 25.


DA, do you have any picture of MK17s hose routing?
 
Grr. Just another note, in spite of the earlier one in this thread, about what "cold water" means in relation to the MK25: Under 40 degrees.

For anyone diving in water warmer than 40 degrees (read: most of the world), the mk25 is a GREAT 1st stage with nearly zero downside.
 
I heard a rumor that another G250 variant will replace the current model...think "classic"...
