"Don’t connect a R-series second stage or octopus to the upper central LP port in the first stages equipped with swivel turret since the axial-direct High Flow could
make your R-series second stage not work properly"

What is the upper central LP port exactly? I looked in the manual, and the information regarding this "warning" is not sufficent.

Alsom, Should the "turret" face down or up ?

The upper central port they refer to is the one in the very end of the turret. I've always found this quite a funny thing for them to write and doubt that gas velocity would be slowed much if any by connecting the regulator to one of the other ports.

If you are using a single, face the turret down as it is much better protected this way. There is no reason to use the end port (upper central port) in a single configuration.
If you are using twins, face the turret towards the centre and slightly down as it facilitates better hose routing using the end port (upper central port) for your backup regulator and your wing inflator hose, plus offers the turret a degree of protection.

Anyway, I hope this helps to ease your mind somewhat.

Ahhhhh, makes much more sense now. Thank you!!!

Tony,

Yes, the manual was not originally written in English, then translated which is why it sounds confusing. It is not unsafe to attach to the end port with an R series regulator, just not recommended; especially what it does to the hose configuration on single reg diving set up. Thanks divingtactics for explaining; yes the end LP ports on the MK25 are Ideal for Tech twin manifold reg configuration and does give the highest possible airflow on the market.

As to which way any of our swivel regs should be attached to the valve (with single reg config), "up or down", you will hear many opinions. The original design was to be in the "up" position so as to give the greatest amount of swivel and freedom of movement for all hoses attached. HOWEVER, 90% of our divers put these regs in the "down" configuration to be very streamline and to not hit the back of the head.

keep on divin',
