I'll update this first post as a running synopsis of this thread.

For a complete list of all of the Mo2vation dives for the 2006 calendar year, see this thread:

http://www.scubaboard.com/showthread.php?t=123220

When:
Saturday, April 22nd

Where:
The Sundiver - Captain Ray Arntz
Alamitos Bay Landing
160 Marina Drive
Long Beach, CA 90803

Directions (click here)

For reservations call:
800-555-9446
or
562-594-6968

Destination:
Catalina Island (Usually 3 dives)

Trips to Catalina leave at 7am, boarding begins at 6 am.

The boat returns between 5:00-6:00 pm.

Cost:
(includes AL-80 Tanks provided by the Sundiver)

This does not include food or tank fills and even though a full AL 80 is provided for your convenience, the 1st fill is not included.

0 - 9 divers = $85
10 - 19 divers = $80
20+ divers = $75

Don't wait until the last minute to sign up for any of these boats.

Remember that each of these boats is working on filling these open boats just like we are. If a shop comes along in February that wants to fill an October boat and we have only taken 3 spots. The rest of those spots will be sold. That's the only way that we can work with these boats and not make a financial commitment to them up front.

I've already given my credit card number to all of these boats to hold a spot for me. Keep in mind that they only use the card to hold the spot and will only charge it on the day of the trip, so if you book these trips now for the whole year, you won't be charged for a year's worth of boat diving all at once.

What is the Mo2vation Dive?

This is a monthly gathering of all divers in SoCal who can make it.

It was named after our SoCal member Mo2vation because of his love for boat dives and all of the friendly jabs he takes at our monthly Wrinkles Beach Dive and BBQ. :crafty:

We welcome both ScubaBoard members and non-ScubaBoard members that you know. It's open to divers of all skill levels from "What's an anchor line?" to "Do we really have to dive the Andrea Doria again?"

This is a great way to meet our fellow divers and make new dive buddies! You don't have to have a buddy to participate, lots of us would be happy to buddy up with you.

RSVP:

RSVP on the ScubaBoard Calendar once you have a confirmed reservation:

http://www.scubaboard.com/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=619&day=2006-4-22&c=32

(you can now rsvp and include your guest count for your non-ScubaBoard buddies!)
Please sign up on the Calendar and update your party size on the calendar with changes, so that we can compare our list with Ray's in advance and make sure that there are no discrepancies.

Confirmed Reservations:
Let me know if I've misrepresented anyone's confirmed reservations here.

I will be so very there for a beautiful day of Spring diving on the SunDiver!!!

Although the Mo2vation dive of March 25th is technically the first Spring '06 Mo2 dive, this IS SoCal, and nothing and nobody ever arrives on time here.

By April 22, Springtime will be here, big time, and we are gonna have fun.

Thanks, Christian, for organizing all the fun.

With this Mo2vation Dive only just over a month away, I wanted to remind you all to start calling Ray on the Sundiver to secure your spot.

It's an open boat, so if he sells the boat out before you get on, that would be a bummer. This happened on both the Peace in January and the Spectre in February. There were people from ScubaBoard who could not get on the boat because it was full.

I'd also like to point out that the trips on the Sundiver are some of the best deals that we have been able to make for this year, so take advantage of the savings.

It's not everyday that you get to boat dive for these prices! I spend more than this to go beach diving at some of the Wrinkles dives.

See you all there.

Christian

Reservation made for one. Hope the water gets a little warmer for us wetsuit divers.

I won't be able to make this one. I have a Reef Check class in Santa Barbara the 22nd and 23rd of April. But, good news, The 28th, 29th, and 30th we have classes on a liveaboard to Catalina, on the Explorer.

I hope everyone has a great time, and I will be thinking about you, while I sit in class:D

Hey all,

I just called Captain Ray and left a message. I plan to be there if there is still room!

Also, please make SURE to be available for dinner afterward. I'll have some news soon. :14:

This is filled with intrigue! I'm definitely available for dinner afterward. Have I mentioned I love food and even more so when it's shared with good company?

CMan - See if you can prep Ray for a trip back to the sand falls. I wanna see that spot again. Truly one of the most unforgettable dives I did last year.

I'll call him tomorrow and get BunnyJaye on the trip.
