I'll update this first post as a running synopsis of this thread. I've got some minor details that still need to be filled in.

For a complete list of all of the Mo2vation dives for the 2006 calendar year, see this thread:

http://www.scubaboard.com/showthread.php?t=123220

When:
Saturday, March 25th

Where:
The Pacific Star - Captain David Harvey
181 North Harbor Drive
Redondo Beach CA 90277

Directions (click here)

For reservations call:
626 716-1796

Destination:
Catalina Island (3 dives)

Trips to Catalina leave at 7am and you can board the boat at 6am.

The boat returns by 6pm.

Cost:
(includes food, beer, wine, kayak use, air fills)

$105 ea. = 0 - 9 people
$95 ea. = 10 - 14 people
$90 ea. = 15 - 19 people
$85 ea. = 20 - 24 people
$80 ea. = 25 - 28 people

Nitrox (partial pressure mix) is available for $12 per fill.

Don't wait until the last minute to sign up for any of these boats.

Remember that each of these boats is working on filling these open boats just like we are. If a shop comes along in February that wants to fill an October boat and we have only taken 3 spots. The rest of those spots will be sold. That's the only way that we can work with these boats and not make a financial commitment to them up front.

I've already given my credit card number to all of these boats to hold a spot for me. Keep in mind that they only use the card to hold the spot and will only charge it on the day of the trip, so if you book these trips now for the whole year, you won't be charged for a year's worth of boat diving all at once.

What is the Mo2vation Dive?

This is a monthly gathering of all divers in SoCal who can make it. Of course, if you are visiting from some other region, everyone is invited!

It was named after our SoCal member Mo2vation because of his love for boat dives and all of the friendly jabs he takes at our monthly Wrinkles Beach Dive and BBQ. :D

We welcome both ScubaBoard members and non-ScubaBoard members that you know. It's open to divers of all skill levels from "What's an anchor line?" to "Do we really have to dive the Andrea Doria again?"

This is a great way to meet our fellow divers and make new dive buddies! You don't have to have a buddy to participate, lots of us would be happy to buddy up with you.

RSVP:

RSVP on the ScubaBoard Calendar once you have a confirmed reservation:

http://www.scubaboard.com/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=617&day=2006-3-25&c=32

(you can now rsvp and include your guest count for your non-ScubaBoard buddies!)
Please sign up on the Calendar and update your party size on the calendar with changes, so that we can compare our list with theirs in advance and make sure that there are no discrepancies.

Confirmed Reservations:
Let me know if I've misrepresented anyone's confirmed reservations here.

I'm in and looking forward to it! I've heard great things about this boat!

I asked Sonya if we'd be able to sleep on the boat the night before and she said she'll know that week if it would work out.

It is a great boat. Helpful crew. Dave and Sonya (his wife) are nice people.

I stayed on the boat the night before. The only problem was they didn't get in until late and had to clean & prep before I could board. I think I went to bed about 1:30am. Nice size bunks and the forward bunks are almost like small private rooms (with curtains).

They also have Nitrox.

I’m going to try and get on this dive. I hope!

I will be diving in Puerto Galera, Philippines that week :D so I don't think I'll be able to make it.

By the way, if anyone want's to join us, the airfares to Manila for March are at a record low right now of $560 RT from LAX (peak season I've seen them at $1200 RT). And accomodations on the beach with 2 dives a day included is only $60 per day. Can't beat it.

Now you mention this!:11doh: I just recently finalized my plans for Roatan in May. If I knew about this, I would have definitely joined. Oh well, enjoy.

I've got reservations for the PacStar to Catalina on March 25th!!!

We RULE!!! :D I get to dive with KelpHelper and WetRat and Headhunter and it's going to be fantastic.

This boats gonna fill... get your rezzies while you can!

wetrat:
Yay!!! Looking forward to diving with you again, Claudette! :monkeydan
Thanks, John :D !

We sure did have a lot of fun on the Rick Inman Two-day, Secret-Personalities-Revealed-While-You-Dive, Extravaganza!!! It was so restrained of us all to not post our insights into the true nature of Monsieur Inman. I threw in the towel once I found out that the Scuba gods really do love him best. Who knew??? All we could hope for was to surface-swim near him and bask in all the lovin'!

It will be great to dive with you again soon... Don't I get to see you on deck for an earlier Mo2vation dive??? Hope so :D !

Is it January 28th yet????!???!??

Yep!!!:D January 28th on the Peace. I'm TOTALLY stoked about diving Anacapa! Monseur Inman IS a character - I love how he kept referring to our diving as warm, tropical diving!! See ya in a couple weeks!
