I don't know if this is the right place to post this or not. If there's a better place, could someone let me know?

Mozilla users are probably familiar with its built-in search engine functionality. You can add Google, Amazon, ebay or whatever plugins and then search those sites directly from your browser by entering the search term into a little text box on the browser. Way cool.

Well, I have written one for scubabord. It seems to work great. Installing it is a snap if you use Mozilla (if you don't yet use Mozilla Firefox, I highly recommend it over Internet Explorer for security and stability).

Anyway, I have submitted the plugin to mozilla, but it may be a while before it's on their site. If anyone wants the plugin immediately, PM me or drop a line to barley@pacific.net I'll send it to you.

If an admin wants to post the plugin somewhere on the site, that might be cool. I imagine most Mozilla users will want it. Let me know and I'll send it to you.

Is there some reason you can't just post it here? I'm sure it isn't much bigger than most pics...

We won't allow the posting of any software/plugin in the body of a post. It stops companies with nefarious intents from data mining your e-mail address (which we protect religiously) or from infecting you with spy ware or viruses. However, if Humuhumunukunukuapua'a would send me the plugin at PMurray@NetDocInc.com or NetDoc@ScubaBoard.com then we would definitely consider it... and thanks for your effort!

I appreciate that!

Ok, so what happened to this new "whiz-bang" idea? Did it get approved? Was it even sent?

yeah, i'm a mozilla user so i've been wondering...

I sent it to the email address above. I don't know what became of it.

A lot of people are using the plugin with great success. I get PMed a lot asking for it. Just drop me a PM with your name and I can email it to you.

Really, though, it does seem to make sense to just post it for download somewhere prominent on scubaboard. There's no virus danger or anything here. It's just a little XML file and a jpg.

And, as my sig says, I made a scubatoys one too...

For now, I guess just PM me your email and I'll send it :)

Yeah they look great! Much better and now you can distinguish one search from the other instead of both being dive flags. Thanks!
