Need buddies - Catalina, from Jan. 29 on

Hi, Folks!
I plan to dive Catalina (Casino Point and some boat dives) starting Jan. 29 (Sat.), for about a week. Is anyone interested to dive together? Shorter terms (1-2 days) are Ok, too. Its better to find buddies in advance than trying to find someone already on the spot. Any suggestions are welcome!

Are you staying on the island? Are you OW or AOW certified? If you're not staying on the island, there might be a boat with seats available on the 31st. We're still discussing it, though.

Yes, I plan to stay on the island (camping), but if will be no boats/buddies, I will definitely go to the main land. I am OW certified (9 logged dives, yes, everybody begins from that).
From which location the boat is supposed to start?

You won't find anyone giving you a hard time here about a low dive count. Well, unless there's a troll lurking. I'd be game for either casino point if I can get fills at the trailer or, if you come back to mainland (long beach) can probably arrange a great boat trip.

The CDS air fill station at the Point has not been open most of the week days during the winter. Too few divers coming out here. Also, check ahead with SCUBA Luv (310-510-2350) and CDS (310-510-0330) to make sure they have boats going out during your time here.

Are there dive shops with air fills within walking distance from Casino? Or air fills at Casino point are the only option?

@Nikko81: If I were you, I'd call CDS ahead of time to let them know that you'll be doing some shore diving at Casino Point mid-week with some buddies. As drbill mentioned, CDS doesn't usually staff the fill station at the Point mid-week in the winter. However, when the CDS folks heard that a small dive group was going to be there, they were nice enough to send a guy over to do our fills. It was almost like having our private air fill guy. It sure beat carting the tanks all the way over to the shop on the pier (since we didn't have a snazzy golf cart like all of the cool kids).

I am Interested! I do have a few questions.
Like how much is the camping?
Where are you coming from or where do you live? I am not sure if I could stay for a week but I could do half the week? I am not sure yet it would be more then less.
Also are you bringing in your food or eating off the Island restaurants?
Do you have a sight reserved and any other takers other then me? I am still very green the same as you but I would like to get some beach dives in.
Also how much for the boat you are thinking about?
