Gotcha that makes sense, my manifold is 200 bar and I've yet to see a 300 bar manifold. ...now I just have to find some inserts.

You haven't looked very hard then, Salvo, Diverite, Halcyon and many others make 300 bar manifolds.

I meant in person, where I could look at the back of the post and see that there was no dimples for a yoke. I've seen plenty online. Don't forget Sea Elite, OMS and ScubaPro.

Can a manifold for use on Al80's be used on steel cylinders? Currently I dive wet, but there's the possibility of diving dry in the next year or two, would the doubled Al80's be workable for that.

There are two different 'standard' tank orifices. 0.750-14 NPS, or "3/4" and 0.875-16 UNF, or "7/8". Aluminum tanks are 3/4, as are low and the new 'mid' pressure E8 series steel tanks. High pressure [3500 psi] steel tanks are mostly 7/8.

So a manifold for your aluminum would work on a 3/4 threaded steel tank. If you go that route, you probably will want to get a 300 BAR manifold as opposed to a 200 BAR manifold.

One thing to note since I'm on the topic. The "3/4" and "7/8" is referring to the .750 and .875 in the thread naming. It does 'not' imply 3/4" and 7/8"; in fact, the 7/8 is a smaller opening then the 3/4. So if all you remember is "3500 psi tanks have a smaller opening", you'll end up buying the wrong manifold.

I was pretty sure all of the E-series tanks were 3/4-14 thread, and I just checked www.pstscuba.com and they are.

All of the E-series tanks are 3442 psi.

The older HP series, 3500 psi service pressure, tanks had the 7/8 threads.

I stand corrected. I always thought the "E7" referred to their 3500 psi tanks. [if it doesn't say E8-130, I don't pay attention :wink:]

I removed the e7 reference.

E7 = 7.25" diameter E-series (3442 psi)
E8 = 8" diameter E-series

Good point about the 130s.. but some of us still dive singles occasionally! :D

Sea Elite 3/4 300 bar manifold works for AL80s and E8-130s.
