I, among others, feel there’s an engineering flaw with where the depth sensor sits and is attached within the Nerd casing. It is prone to becoming jarred and needing to be replaced by Shearwater. I also do not think it’s visible if there is a true, shiz hit the fan, silty blackout or whiteout. Some HUDs, however, are.
Assuming this is a Choptima, I’d suggest either Petrel + Nerd or Petrel + HUD. You could do a HUD + Nerd, but I don’t find that to be the best config to learn on and some instructors won’t permit it.
