Activities will begin at 9am each day. Tents will protect us from the weather so, come rain or shine, we'll be diving! We have an exciting weekend planned with plenty of diving, seminars, door prizes and more!

Halcyon Demo Days
Stop by the Halcyon tent and take advantage of this unique opportunity to try the latest Halcyon products including Eclipse, Evolve and Explorer MC Systems, Explorer HID Lighting, Scout LED back-up lights, and Halcyon's range of reels, lift devices and surface markers. Halcyon representatives will be on hand to answer questions and help outfit you with the latest cutting-edge gear.

Halcyon Demo and NEUE Workshops are free with admission to the park.

NEUE Workshops
Are you curious about GUE or the DIR philosophy and equipment configuration, but not quite ready to take the next step? Then the workshops could be of interest...

What GUE is all About
A presentation for those new to GUE or interested in finding out more, geared towards recreational diving. Covering the education, research and exploration activities as well as some of the history of GUE/DIR philosophies, equipment configuration and training.

Equipment & Skills
Are you interested in the backplate and wing or looking for an opportunity to try out some other gear? Then the Equipment seminars may interest you, covering everything from the fit and adjustment of a backplate through to lights, lift bags, line laying. A number of diving & skill workshops will be run over the weekend including propulsion, communication, line laying etc.

Who Should Attend
Any certified diver from beginning divers curious about GUE/DIR though to those looking towards Cave or Technical training will have a blast this weekend. It is a great opportunity to renew old friendships and expand your circle of dive buddies.

A large number of divers are heading to this event from MA, CT, NY and DC amongst other locales in the Northeast and beyond, both new and technical divers alike. There will be opportunities to dive with a wide range of divers and receive guidance and feedback.

Keynote Speaker and Notable Attendees
Jarrod Jablonski from GUE and WKPP will be speaking Sat night along with a number of local divers presenting on projects and trips. A number of GUE Instructors will be in attendance including Jarrod Jablonski, Sonya Tittle, Ed Hayes and George Bouloukos.

Having Fun
This weekend is all about having fun and getting the most from diving!

Non-Diver Attractions: Bring the Whole Family
Hiking, mountain biking, swimming... even zip lines, wakeboarding and kayaking are available at Brownstone Park. So bring the whole family, bring your friends and make a day or weekend out of it! Camping is also available.

Hope to see you there!

I hope that just because this is Halcyon dive gear, people won't get the wrong idea about who this is aimed at. This is for EVERY DIVER to come and enjoy. don't be put off thinking that this has anything to do with arrogant "DIR" guy's, as it just aint so. As a diver, you owe it to yourself to go see and try out this amazing gear that has changed diving for so many of us. I guarantee you will have fun, and enjoy a great day. Stay the day, dive new gear, (even scooters I am told) Enjoy some good information from the best in the sport, and ask them questions. Again, this is for ALL DIVERS OF ALL SKILL LEVELS! In my opinion, this is as big as DUI dog days, if not better. An opertunity to try out thousands of dollars in gear for free is nothing to be passed up! Mark your calanders people!!!

what the hell? I can't believe there's no interest in this! Here's the scoop directly from the Scuba Shack's news letter. It's crazy to pass up an opertunity like this!

Join the Scuba Shack team at the First Annual Scuba Shack Picnic August 16 and 17 at Brownstone Park. This is not going to be your normal picnic, but you're welcome to bring a potluck dish.

It's not normal since along with food and drink, there will be many activities going on at the park that weekend.

Halcyon Demo Days - try out new gear and see what diving DIR is all about.
Global Underwater Explorer (GUE) Workshops - Plenty of learning opportunities all weekend.
Saturday Night Presentation by Jarrod Jablonski, president and founder of GUE at 5 p.m. on Aug. 16.
Scooter Test Rides and more!
There are eight workshops scheduled each day (Saturday and Sunday) plus the ability to complete the GUE Fundamentals checkout dives at the park.

You should register for workshops in advance at the Northeast Underwater Explorers Web site here. Workshops include What GUE is all About, Equipment & Skills, Wreck Survey, Scooter Workshop, Surface Marker Buoy, Line Laying, Propulsion Techniques and Communications.

Bring your family since the park has great swimming activities plus zip lines, cliff jumping, water toys and two wakeboard runs.

If you have friend that want to try scuba diving, Scuba Shack will be providing Discover Scuba programs on both days - all day!

I never thought I'd have an excuse to break this out again but it seems a fitting occasion so here's my good old "Uncle dbg40" poster..... :D

Two new NEUE Workshops have just been announced. We are going to have an absolute blast at the Halcyon Demo Days and NEUE Workshop Weekend on August 16-17.

Complete description of all workshops, schedule and registration can be found here. Advanced registration is recommended to reserve your spot.

The two new workshops are:

Wreck Survey
Divers and historians can learn a lot about a wreck from surveys. Learn about different underwater survey methods and then practice on one of the "Wrecks of Brownstone Park." With numerous wrecks in our local waters, these skills could come in handy. Non divers also welcome as same skill set is used for foreshore surveys.

Scooters
Introduction to scooters, and an opportunity to try them out. This workshop covers the basics - general overview, setup, skills, dive management, in-water adjustment and riding position, turns. Barrel rolls and loops optional. We expect this to be a very popular session and is intended for those who do not currently own a scooter

This is in addition the Intro to GUE, Equipment & Skills, Surface Marker Buoy, Line Laying, Propulsion, and Communication workshops that are planned. Fundamentals checkouts are also available.

Remember, the Demos and Workshops are free with admission to the Park. There is even a $5 admission rebate if you demo Halcyon gear.

Non-Diver and Family Friendly
